Uses of Non Woven Polyester Felt

NONWOVEN FELT INCEPTION

Felt Nonwovens were one of the oldest textile material to be used in various apparels. Era of Nonwoven Interlinings started from 1950. When they started to be used in garments. Nonwoven Fabrics accounts for more than 50% part of the total textile activity in the world. According to the estimates use of non woven fabrics is on an increase of approximate 11% annually. These materials have greatly enhanced protective clothing era. Nonwoven material is specifically engineered to be used in various applications. The reason of so much of their use is that they have low production cost and offers high productivity.

NON WOVEN FABRICS

Non woven fabrics have many characteristics. These fabrics are highly absorbent, flame resistant, light, moldable, soft, durable, sound absorbent, tear resistant. But it is not like that one will have all the above characteristics with the same kind of Nonwovens. The nonwovens are manufactured with different specifications as per the requirement of purpose they are needed to serve or fulfill. There are two ways of manufacturing these fabrics. One is felted and the other is bonded.

BONDED NONWOVENS

There are mainly three types of Bonded Nonwovens. Chemically bonded nonwovens, Thermally bonded and mechanically bonded. Out of all the methods although Thermally bonding method is the most commonly used method for bonding nonwovens. The type of method to be used for bonding depends on the application of the nonwoven. The choice of method is established by comparing the requirement to be met through their use and application.

FELTED

Felting is the oldest method of processing wool. Made by pressing together various animal hairs the felted fabric was primarily used for clothing, shelter etc. But with the passage of time this felted fabric is being used in many other industries too.

POLYESTER FELT

Polyester felt is manufactured from polyester fibers. These fibers are needle punched with special felting needle with small bards on the end. It is a cost effective alternative to wool felt. At Jhanji Textiles we manufacture these Polyester Felts from PET plastic waste. Thus producing 100% organic fibers that are environment friendly.

USES OF NON WOVEN POLYESTER FELT

Non Woven Polyester Felt offers various uses. The felt benefits involve:

  •        It has high temperature tolerance.
  •        The felts manufactured from polyester are ideal for dry heat applications.
  •         It is highly durable.
  •        This felt has extensive usage from cement plants to electric furnaces.
  •         Its dimensional stability is exceptional.
  •         Polyester felts have great resistance to most organic solvents.

CONCLUSION

Available in different densities and thickness these felts come in various range from felt rolls to felt pads depending on their use and applications. They offer the best acoustic application from speakers to wall panels, from mattress to filters, they have numerous and varied purposes to feed.

Non Woven Needle Punched Fabric

Needle Punched Non Woven for Filtration How they are manufactured Nonwoven fabrics are manufactured by binding together small fibers. These fibers are bonded together either mechanically (needle punching), thermally or chemically. Out of all these processes Thermal Bonding is the most commonly used process for the manufacturing of Non Woven Fabrics. Next is the process of Mechanical Bonding in nonwoven manufacturing. This type of method in nonwoven production is also widely used. This method of binding fibers is accomplished through three ways. Needle Punching Technique, Stitch Bonding and Hydroentanglement.  Here we will talk about the needle punched non woven fabric. Needle Punching Technique Needle Punched non woven fabrics are produced by punching a range of needle directly on the web. Punching needles into the web makes the felt quite flexible, having distinctive pores. These pores makes this non woven felt a perfect fit to be used for filtration and drainage. ...

Potential Use of Nonwovens In Automotive Industry

Features Textiles are used in cars for different purposes. They have multiple uses in the Automotive Industry. Substantial increase of nonwovens in this industry has provide a great platform to Interlining manufacturing Industry. The various features of these material are sound efficiency, light weight, flexibility, low process and material cost, mould ability, flexibility, versatility, recyclability and attractive cost performance ratio. Decrease the weight According to the International Nonwovens Association, nonwovens when replacing the traditional materials reduce the weight of the car by 2 kg. Their use make the car lighter. As the material itself is 30% lighter than the material it is replacing. Acoustic Property The material offer sound absorption a perfect fit for the Automotive Industry. As almost every textile has some potential for acoustic function. These textiles are used in many applications involving acoustics like acoustic control in headliners, in da...

Hot Air Non Woven : Significantly used Non Woven For Face Masks

Applications and Advantages of Hot Air Through Non Wovens Hot Air through bonding is a technique that is applied to Nonwovens. It has honor of providing high quality and high performance ability to the fabric. This Hot air technique is applied to the fabric by proving heated air to the surface through thermal bonding. Considering the growing awareness among people about hygiene and widespread of virus, hot air nonwovens are in great demand in this era. Process of applying Hot Air through Nonwoven In the process of applying H ot Air Through Non Wovens the binding agents that are used are crystalline binder fibers and powder. These binders melt and form molten droplets. These droplets are then passed through the cross-section of the nonwovens. The bonding of the fibers occurs when the material is cooled down.  Characteristics of Nonwovens after Hot Air Application Hot Air process grants special features to the nonwoven fabric. This process is continuing strides towards giving ot...
